The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 is designed for starting and stopping asynchronous motors with voltages from 208V to 690V. It meets the requirements of the most demanding applications in normal and heavy-duty use. With a rated current of 170A under normal overload, it operates motors from 45kW to 160kW according to the mains voltage. Developed for digitalization, networked, optimized for compliance with cybersecurity standards, it simplifies project execution and maximizes application availability. Its torque control (TCS) masters acceleration and deceleration. Thanks to dynamic braking and DC injection, applications with high inertia are efficiently managed. It can be connected in the motor line or in delta connection to reduce operating current. The embedded test routine simplifies commissioning in delta connection. The dimensions are 200mm (width) x 272mm (depth) x 340mm (height) and the weight is 12.4kg. The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 was developed to monitor processes, infrastructures, and industrial machines. It complies with IEC/EN60947-4-1. It is certified according to CE, cULus, UKCA, CCC, RCM, EAC, and marine certified according to DNV, ABS, BV, and CCS. Operator terminals, remote mounting kits, and communication modules are uniform with the Altivar Drives. Line reactors and DNV kits are identical to the predecessor ATS48. ATS480 is compatible with ATS48, it has the same footprint, mounting, torque control, I/O, menus... The integration of the Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 into EcoStruxure drastically simplifies the selection of architecture, detailed design, and execution of ventilation and electrical systems.
